We spent today at Hollywood Studios for ESPN Weekend… The park was PACKED… I know a lot say that only the area around the ESPN events are busy but today was a different story.. I have never seen the studios so busy. TSM Fastpasses gone by 10:00 am for the day, RRC has wait times over 90 minutes, ToT the same thing.
I am really glad we went for the ESPN things and not a normal day at the park because we would have been disappointed.
ESPN was interesting, I would rate it a B+, it doesn’t get an A because they don,t make the athletes available for autographs, you can only get one if they feel like stopping and doing them. I think alot of folks were disappointed by that. All the athletes though were in a great mood, most were wearing Mickey gear. The question and answer sessions were great, they were all very open and funny.
I loved seeing Brett Favre, he is my all time favorite quarterback. He didn’t know what to say when a little boy who said he was named after him asked him if he really had to retire cause he didn’t want him to.. big awww from the crowd. Kurt Warner was there, he walked about 10 feet past me but I wasn’t fast enough with the camera darn it. The only NBA star I knew was Scotty Pippen, but I am no NBA fan.. Lots of others were there as well. They did a great job balancing past and present players in all the sports.
We had dinner at Prime Time. Our server sister was GREAT, she really did a great job, even if I was the one who took most of the abuse LOL… Food as always was delicious. I had the Pot roast, John the meat loaf and Brandon the Tuna Casserole. He said that that was really good. Of course, I had to have the Smores, as good as always
We then ended the night attending Fantasmic. I could watch that show over and over again
I am so tired and me feet hurt so I am going to leave you with some pictures of the day. Tomorrow we are heading to Animal Kingdom and Chef Mickey’s for dinner.

We arrived at Saratogo Springs just after 5:00 so it took us 12 hours to drive here. We lost over an hour sitting in traffic in Orlando’s rush hour… I hate Orlando’s rush hour LOL
The ride was uneventful and went by very quickly. I really don’t mind the drive, 12 hours seems long but maybe it is because we have done it so many times but it flies by. The secret is having the air card so you can surf the net, as well as a good book, a blanket and a pillow
. We only took 2 bathroom breaks and a lunch break so overall we were happy with our timing.
We are staying at Saratogo Springs in a one bedroom, Congress Park, upper level just as I requested. The view isn’s spectacular to DTD but it works
.
After unpacking we headed down to DTD for dinner at Earl of Sandwich… I love that place.. I am happy to report the Hawaiian BBQ sandwich is as wonderful as always
DTD was packed, I am sure it was because it was a Friday night but you could barely walk through the stores. Will be interesting to see if that translates into the same in the parks. I hope not.. We did a bit of walking around, took a few pictures (see next post down, if you missed it), visited Goof’s Candy Shop

and then headed back to the room for an early evening. When we arrived home we found this guy hanging out in the grass. I had never seen a Possum close up and he was amazing to watch as nothing fazed him and he just kept on munching at the grass.

Tomorrow the trip really begins as we are heading to the Studios for ESPN the Weekend..
Have a great Saturday
What’s makes this so funny is you don’t see the front, it gets worse…

yes that is a thong, yes those are skin painted jeans, and you should have seen her boyfriend, the one she screamed at across the art of Disney Store.. I didn’t take a front shot, she scared the hell out of me LOL
