Up on my soap box LOL

First thanks for all the comments on yesterday’s Fence photo’s.. I am always happy to share something that so many enjoy looking at.  Your comments mean alot and make me a better photographer!!!!

I’ve been thinking about this while Flu thing and wondering why people get so much into an uproar on things that are totally out of their control. The panic is amazing to me. I have to remind myself that there are educated people in this world who are not panicking at this time, its just a few of the millions..  here is what is getting to me and making me shake my head..

We are sailing on a 7 day cruise on November, and because of this cruise I am spending a great deal of time on a particular cruise board and the people are going crazy over this flu.

First they are worried that they didn’t know what the cruiseline would do, now that announcements are made they are bitching about the decision made.  They are upset that the crew may be sick and doesn’t understand why the cruiseline won’t guarantee that each and every person on the ship is healthy…  They don’t understand why they cant cancel without penalty (read your contract people),  They don’t understand why the cruiseline wont tell them what is going to happen to the June cruises (give me a break, lets see where this goes first).  People are threatening to sue, sue for WHAT??  No one makes you get on the ship, no one has gotten sick on a ship and chances are you won’t.  These cruiselines are taking every possible precaution, they don’t want to be the one to get caught with the sick passengers, etc.

These same people are already asking why cities and towns in the US aren’t shutting down like they are doing in Mexico… OMG can you imagine??  PEOPLE NEED TO GET A GRIP!!!  Yes this flu is dangerous, yes, it is spreading but people THINK.  I work in a building with over 700 people, there is no way I can possibly know if everyone of them has or has not been to Mexico in the last month, nor is there anyway to know if I can or cannot safely go to the store for example… Hmmm I live in a highly Hispanic and Mexican populated area.  is it possible that one of my neighbors has been to Mexico or has been exposed to someone from Mexico, well yes it is possible but I am NOT going to grab a mask and lock myself in my home.  There are NO confirmed cases in my state, thousands die each year from the flu, it is sad and it is unfortunate but people, slow down and think about what you are saying and doing..

I most feel for the little boy they are now claiming is the epicenter of this flu, we don’t know if he is the first to catch this flu, we don’t know how many had it before and after him undiagnosed but what we have now done is brand a child a flu carrier and he will carry this with him the rest of his life.  I really hope his family is and will continue to make sure he knows this is not his fault and he is not responsible for the deaths that have occurred.

Okay, off my soap box… rain is coming our way again, actually since my allergies are going crazy and you can’t see the navy blue color of my car any longer due to all the pollen it is a good thing so since it will be dark and dreary here for a few days I thought I would share a few of the flower shots I took.  Again, these are from my photowalk Saturday at Hollywood Cemetery.  Hope you enjoy them..

Thanks for reading my rant, feels so good to get that off my chest.   Hope everyone has a wonderful day

Fences

For today’s POTD I want to share some fence shots I also took at the cemetery.  I have always loved ornate fence and iron work, unless it gets gaudy.. When ever I find a fence that I think is pretty or has unique lines I end up shooting it.  Here are a few from Saturday, also at Hollywood Cemetery. These are SOOC with a light vignette applied.
