This little guy was just fluttering around, annoying me actually when he landed atop our bird feeder. Loved how the light was hitting him so I snapped away.  I then took the shot into Lightroom where I added some additional highlights and a small vignette. What do you think?

Here is a second view of Pony Pasture along the James River here in Richmond. This weekend being a holiday, these rocks will be covered with folks picnicking and sun bathing. With the water levels so low there are no restrictions on swimming right now so everyone will take full advantage of this great area of the river.

I started dabbling a little in HDR, I certainly don’t think I would use it all the time and it can be over applied very easily but sometimes I think it really can add to a photo.

With that said, I took this shot of the City of Richmond and the James River on my way home from work one night last week.  I then applied a slight HDR effect using Photomatix and that was all.  I am pretty happy with how it turned out.  Does it work in your opinion? Comments??
