Okay so it’s not the bay, it’s the James River and it’s not a dock, it’s a bridge but doesn’t this Blue Heron look so content just watching the world drift by?

He/She was just standing here when I drove by so I turned around and snapped this before he/she disappeared. SOTC, 70-300 lens and cropped.
Here is hoping everyone has a great week. I know I am looking forward to a long holiday weekend as I am taking Friday off and they are giving us Monday. Woot Woot!!!
This gorgeous male Cardinal and his off spring have been hanging around our yard for weeks now.

I think their nest is actually in our large tree in the backyard, but the tree branches are very thick and I don’t want to disturb a nest, if there is one there so I haven’t really had a chance to see.![]()

The plumage makes me believe this is his little girl but I am not 100% sure. It should be a few weeks more before the coloring becomes more solid and then we will be able to tell.
I hope all the dad’s out there have a wonderful weekend. You certainly deserve it.!!
This is Ben:

Ben is my fur brother who lives with my mom. This picture is probably a year old or so but Ben is still very, very cute and a really well behaved dog. My mom asked me the other day to take a look at her digital camera because she thought she may have done something to erase some, if not all of her photos on the memory card. Pictures that go back a few years. She couldn’t get the card to read. We’ve all been there, the panic of losing pictures that aren’t backed up so I stopped by, took her camera and the memory card home with me and last night I opened up the card using my card reader and all the photos where there so I copied them all to my hard drive to ensure we had a backup and then returned the card to her camera where it magically worked. Yea!!
Why am I telling you this and where does poor Ben play into this story? After seeing that it worked (the card) and figuring she had probably knocked the card loose when replacing batteries I went to burn a CD for her and when I glanced at those back-up photos I find that my poor little fur brother has been made into a dress up holiday dog by my mom… Apparently, Ben has a outfit for every holiday…. Halloween, Christmas, Easter, July 4th, St. Patricks Day, Mardi Gras, etc….

My poor, poor Ben… I will talk to mom but I don’t make any promises.
