Poor, Poor Ben

This is Ben:

HPIM0864

Ben is my fur brother who lives with my mom. This picture is probably a year old or so but Ben is still very, very cute and a really well behaved dog.  My mom asked me the other day to take a look at her digital camera because she thought she may have done something to erase some, if not all of her photos on the memory card. Pictures that go back a few years. She couldn’t get the card to read. We’ve all been there, the panic of losing pictures that aren’t backed up so I stopped by, took her camera and the memory card home with me and last night I opened up the card using my card reader and all the photos where there so I copied them all to my hard drive to ensure we had a backup and then returned the card to her camera where it magically worked. Yea!!

Why am I telling you this and where does poor Ben play into this story? After seeing that it worked (the card) and figuring she had probably knocked the card loose when replacing batteries I went to burn a CD for her and when I glanced at those back-up photos I find that my poor little fur brother has been made into a dress up holiday dog by my mom… Apparently, Ben has a outfit for every holiday…. Halloween, Christmas, Easter, July 4th, St. Patricks Day, Mardi Gras, etc….

My poor, poor Ben… I will talk to mom but I don’t make any promises.

Why you always take your camera with you

I am trying to remember to always carry my camera with me. I am currently doing this about 75% of the time but really want to get to where I have it 90-95% of the time.  The photo below is an example of one reason why you want the camera handy (even if just outside your house).

It had just stopped raining as I was heading out of the house the other morning for work and because I had parked backwards in the driveway I had parked right next to the Daylily plants.  I just happened to glance down and though what a great picture they (the day lilies) would make with the raindrops on them when I remembered that I had my camera in my purse. Since I was heading out the door to work, if I had not had the camera in my bag I know 100% positively that I would not have gone back into the house to get it and would have missed out.

I didn’t purposely angle this next one to be partially of the screen.  What happened was I was in a hurry and couldn’t get wet or muddy (heading to work remember) so kneeling down was not an option. I basically held the camera down and NOT looking through the view finder just clicked and moved it around a bit then clicked some more. When I opened it up I loved the result so I just cropped a bit from the top left and left it as is.

Before I go I do want to thank everyone again for the comments.  I enjoy waking up in the morning, or coming home from work and reading them.  Thanks for looking at today’s photos, have a great day and don’t forget to grab your camera when you leave the house. :)

Brian and Kailynn… Wedding Photos

Finally managed to get through the photos I took at the wedding Saturday. It still seems surreal to think that my baby is a married man.  For those who don’t know, Brian and Kailynn are high school sweethearts who dates for seven years before getting married this past weekend.  We are very proud of them both and welcome Kailynn into our family officially with open arms…
